Council of Europe Study Session
Spark and Sustain: fostering mental well-being and motivation in open youth work
Budapest October 13-18
Are you between 18-25 and interested in improving mental well-being? If the answer is yes, this is your
chance to join youth from across Europe in Budapest for an in-depth study session.
We are seeking youth workers to join this study session that continues with the 2025 theme of mental well-being.
Hosted by the Council of Europe, and jointly organised by ECYC and the Youth Express Network (Y-E-N), the
study session is taking place at the European Youth Centre in Budapest, Hungary.
The overarching aim of the study session is to bolster the resilience and mental well-being of youth workers
for increased motivation and participation of youth in democratic processes.
Objectives:
1. To understand the underlying factors impacting the mental well-being of youth workers and the alleged connection with declining motivation and participation among young people in civil society.
2. To empower youth workers to develop effective coping mechanisms to mitigate the negative impacts of declining motivation and burnout by providing tools, resources and good practices;
3. To advocate for systemic/policy changes aimed at addressing the root causes of declining motivation and burnout among youth workers.
