ich, regina stierschneider, bin aktuell  das 2. mal als volunteer in kathmandu in einem tibetisch-buddhistischen kloster. 
ich bin freizeitpädagogin und hab den aufbaulehrgang für kinder-und jugendarbeit beim ifp abgeschlossen und viele jahre als parkbetreuerin in wien gearbeitet.

wir suchen für die kleinen mönche, die das ganze jahr über im kloster leben und dort auch zur schule gehen,  einen interessierten mann im alter von 27-40 Jahren mit einschlägiger ausbildung zum freizeitpädagogen oder ähnlichen ausbildungsschwerpunkt. 

mit der bereitschaft sich auf diese erfahrung einzulassen und sich den flug und das visa selbst zu finanzieren... (als österreicher/innen haben wir die möglichkeit 3 monate vias plus 2 monate verlängerung)

Volunteer Opportunity: Organize Playtime for Monastic Children in Nepal!

Location: Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery, Boudha, Kathmandu, Nepal
Minimum Commitment: 3 months

Are you passionate about working with children and bringing joy into learning? Do you have a creative, energetic spirit and a love for adventure? We are looking for a male volunteer who can lead fun and pedagogically sound playtime activities for our young monk students (ages 5–14) at Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery in Boudha, Kathmandu.

What You’ll Do:
6 days per week for 7 hours 
Organize engaging and meaningful play sessions that support learning, creativity, and cooperation

Create a safe, inclusive, and joyful environment

Introduce games that build physical coordination, teamwork, and curiosity

Work closely with teachers and monastic staff to adapt activities to the cultural context

What We Offer:
Basic but comfortable accommodation at the monastery

Three healthy meals a day (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)

A spiritually enriching short trip to:

Asura Cave, a sacred meditation site

Nagi Nunnery in the hills of Kathmandu

Thousand Buddha Temple in Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha

Requirements:
Male applicant, age 27–40 preferred

Prior experience working with children (teaching, coaching, or youth work)

Enthusiastic, respectful, and open-minded personality

Physically active and able to lead group games and outdoor activities

Good  communication skills in English

Cultural sensitivity and willingness to adapt to monastic life

Creativity in planning child-centered activities with an educational approach

Bonus: Background in education, early childhood development, or physical education is a big plus!
